Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of midfielder Thomas Delaney from Werder Bremen for an undisclosed fee. Delaney signed a four-year contract with BVB after a deal in the region of €20 million (£17.6m) was reportedly agreed between the clubs. The 26-year-old, who had been linked with a transfer to the Premier League, moves to Signal Iduna Park only 18 months on from joining Werder from Copenhagen.

The information on a Kenyan World Cup referee Aden Marwa receiving a bribe from Ghanaian investigative reporter has generated heated debate among Kenyans online, minutes after his decision to quit over shame.   Information has it that he is an employee of Teachers Service Commission, teaches Mathematics and Chemistry at Komotobo secondary school in Kuria, Migori County.

He left the country last weekend, but will now be forced to come home and watch the games from home on screens instead, after a BBC expose, in which he fell to the trick by renowned Ghanaian investigative journalist who offered him a bribe, posing as an official. The journalist ‘demanded that the referee influence the outcome of a football match.’

He flew the Kenyan flag high in the global scene when he officiated the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. He was a little-known official back at his home in Kehancha before the Kenya Premier League sought his services, from which he rose to the rank of the assistant referee.
