Villarreal Signs✍ Striker Gerard Moreno from Espanyol.
Spanish club Villarreal has signed striker Gerard Moreno from Espanyol.
Villarreal confirms that Moreno has agreed to a five-year contract with them. Villarreal already owned 50 per cent of the rights to Moreno, who had previously played for the club.
Espanyol says Villarreal bought the player’s full rights by paying 20 million euros (23.5 million dollars), which was half of his buyout clause. Moreno scored 39 goals in three seasons with Espanyol.
Villarreal finished the Spanish league in fifth place last season, earning it a berth to the Europa League.
Toronto Raptors Hire Nick Nurse as New Head Coach
The Toronto Raptors have settled on assistant coach Nick Nurse as their new head coach, according to ESPN.
They said, the team had no comment at the moment. Dwane Casey was fired on May 11 after the team was swept by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference semifinal. Casey, who had led the Raptors to three consecutive 50-win seasons, was named coach of the Detroit Pistons on Monday. Nick Nurse is known for his offensive skills as a coach, winning the D-League championship in 2010-11 and 2012-13 before joining the Raptors. He is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, Nurse was 23 when he became head coach of Grand View College, making him the youngest college basketball coach in the U.S. Nurse coached in Europe for 11 years starting in 1996.
